SONGZIO SS25

Runway Editorial

Songzio presented its first co-ed collection, 'Bright Star', during the SS25 Paris Men’s Fashion Week. Inspired by aquarelle portraits of youthful boys, the collection embodies limitless wonder and pure imagination.

The centerpiece, the Bright Star Tetraptych, is an oil-on-canvas masterpiece depicting the North Star, symbolizing hope and guidance. This artwork reflects Songzio's philosophy of blending dualities such as order and disorder, light and darkness, and classical yet avant-garde elements.

'Bright Star' juxtaposes romantic post-war utilitarian aesthetics with Songzio's technical tailoring and oriental modernism. Dramatically rounded cocoon silhouettes, exaggerated volumes, and sculptural draping introduce a sense of order, while transformative layering, complex patchworks, and asymmetrical mobiles add controlled chaos.

Key pieces feature asymmetric mobiles, crafted from individually hand-cut elements, balancing sculptural beauty and fluid elegance. Dominated by black, grey, and navy, with hints of sky blue and pink, the collection's colors enhance its youthful vibrancy. Aquarelle and oil paintings printed on fabrics add an artisanal touch.

Bold sculptural silhouettes are achieved through contrasting fabrics. Bonded wool, tweed, metallic fabrics, and synthetic leather with metallic lining create dramatic shapes, while delicate fabrics like silk, organza, mesh, cotton, and linen ensure fluidity. This interplay of textures makes the collection dynamic and elegant.
