Sean Suen SS24: Exploring Multidimensional Space in Oriental Culture

The Sean Suen 2024 Spring/Summer Collection, presented at an abandoned garage, opens with an oriental vibe resonating from the ringing belts attached to the outfits, and a black/white color palette symbolizing the ever-changing yin-yang concept.

In this season's collection, Sean Suen draws inspiration from dreams to delve into the essence and destination of the human life entity and self-consciousness within the cycles of life. 

Observing the universe, the East distinguishes the opposing forces of yin and yang, black and white, which are interdependent and ever-changing. The collection embodies the contrasting nature of human existence, with beginnings and endings, and the perpetual struggle between joy and pain, delight and aversion, greed and satisfaction, creation, and destruction.

Some blazers were short and tailored, while others took hints from ancient Chinese Kimono designs with a loose and satin-like appearance. The shoes were squared in shape, which matched the modern feel of the collection. Natural cotton and linen fabrics are utilized to symbolize the natural world. Furthermore, the collection highlights the blooming of the Hiaganbana totem, symbolizing a contemplative journey about the cycles of human existence and all things in nature.
