Rhyzem SS25 Variegated Time

Rhyzem SS25 Variegated Time

RHYZEM, a new discovery in the Artisanal world

When we saw RHYZEM launch in 2023 with its debut at London Fashion Week, we immediately felt that this brand already had a clear direction. There was an ease in how it moved between silhouettes, between cultural references, between forms and identities.

SS25 Variegated Time

This season, RHYZEM continues to explore their signature blend of sculptural tailoring and fluid movement. It’s a label that understands form not as something static, but as something responsive, it is a constant dialogue between body, fabric, and identity. The cuts remain architectural, yet the garments breathe. Pleated linen shorts come with frayed linings. Kimono sleeves appear on tailored vests. A jacket drapes to one side only to be fastened on the other, creating asymmetrical flow. You’re constantly invited to see the body from new angles.

However, RHYZEM’s hidden design language lays in its material development. They value and prioritize natural textiles that are dyed by hand, and finished with an obsessive attention to surface. Their custom jacquard, which is developed especially for SS25, is a technical and visual centerpiece. Inspired by ancient mural-making techniques, it layers abstracted Eastern motifs with a contemporary softness. Metallic threads, compound printing, and sun-dried dyeing techniques give the material an irregular, almost painterly depth. It’s a material you have to look at and study its structures.

The name RHYZEM itself blends rhizome and rhythm, and the duality carries through everything they do. From floaty transparent materials to vegan leather, from wide-legged trousers to spliced long shirts, every look walks the line between structure and fluidity. Their work speaks softly but it says a lot.

We were especially drawn to their two-piece vest-jacket. It looks like a cropped, clean-lined tailored jacket, until you look at the sleeves. Voluminous and flowing like a kimono. Remove them, and you’re left with a vest. Mud-dyed shirts, draping sarouel trousers, and corduroy used in a beautiful way were eastern and western design elements are mixed fluently.

What we particularly like about RHYZEM, is their visual presentation. From the way the fabrics are filmed in movement to the behind-the-scenes process videos of sun-dried dyeing and hand-finishing, they share their complex world. It’s rare to find a young label so committed to its materials, not just in the selection process, but also in the creation process. Watching clips of their fabric being dyed and dried outdoors, you feel the reverence they have for their craft.
