Kie Einzelganger continues to embrace her wildside in an ongoing collaboration with Wildside by Yohji Yamamoto. Her first collaboration with Wildside by Yohji Yamamoto was presented as a capsule line back in July 2022, and featured three shirts that were cut in a loose, androgynous silhouette in a dark palette, made to be worn for any occasion.

The second chapter of Kie Einzelgänger x Wildside by Yohji Yamamoto explores yet again three shirts, this time expressing Einzelgänger's unique concept of "Wildside". Kie’s concept of Wildside is centered on the idea of unintentionally taking a stance that is opposite to what others are opposing or objecting to. It suggests that instead of intentionally taking a position that is different from others, one's natural inclinations or actions might align with the opposite stance without any deliberate effort. The design of these three shirts was inspired by this definition, resulting in garments that embody Einzelgänger's unconventional spirit.
Additionally, Kié's Wildside is expressed through the versatility and adaptability of the garments. They are suitable for wearing in all four seasons and can be layered with other clothing items to create a variety of looks. The garments can be worn buttoned up or open, and the details on the reversed side add an element of fun. The natural drape of the fabric enhances the overall experience of wearing them.
About Kie Einzelgänger
Kié Einzelgänger is an artisanal brand that was introduced in 2019, however, its origin dates back to 2016 when it was launched as Ageless Einzelgänger. The founder of the brand, Kié Lee, is a designer who was born in Basel, Switzerland. She spent her childhood in South Korea and Switzerland before moving to New York to attend Parsons School of Design. After completing her studies, she stayed in Japan to produce her first collection.
Kié's exposure to different cultures and cities had a profound impact on her perspective and way of thinking. Her brand eventually relocated to Antwerp, Belgium, and has been based there ever since.
The brand's name, "Einzelgänger," is a German word that means a maverick or a person who walks alone. From the beginning, Kié Einzelgänger has been known for its melancholic portrayal and dark, muted color palette. The brand draws inspiration from the interwar period of the 1920s to 1940s and the visual arts of Surrealism and Dadaism. To bring a modern touch to its designs, contemporary and classical details from the 21st century are also incorporated.
