Natural dyes and fibers

At the heart of the collection lies a deliberate choice of uplifting mid tones intertwined with deep blacks, further complemented by a captivating natural Indigo silk screen print developed in the traditional city of Kyoto. Expanding the color palette, the designer embraces the rich hues of other natural dyes such as Ume (Japanese plum), Kakishibu (persimmon fruit), and Gall nuts, fostering diversity and vibrancy within the collection.

Continuing their commitment to excellence, Van Essche's team sources refined fabrics from various regions in Japan, collaborating closely with small artisanal weaving mills. These fabrics encompass a myriad of structures and textures, skillfully blending washi (paper fiber), silks, hemps, linens, and cottons. The result is a diverse range of cloths that offer unparalleled comfort and an irresistible tactile experience.

Design

Collection 14 PRĀNA features a knitted series of lightweight and transparent linen/cotton tops, specifically designed as cooling under layers to combat the heat of summer. Simultaneously, heavier jacquard sweaters serve to insulate the body during the refreshing spring months.
