Feng Chen Wang Autumn / Winters '24
Feng Chen Wang AW24 Show
Easy colours with the roughness in design. Let’s have a look at Feng Chen Wang’s show for their Autumn Winter ’24 collection.
Within this collection, Wang is trying to pay homage to the valued tradition of tea culture from her home country; China. This main subject is carried through the collection in many ways. Most noticeably, the colours are all earth toned resembling the soft, yet dark tones formed by tea. Not only the colours itself, some pieces are also directly dyed with tea.
The collection offers a contemporary perspective on the ancient Chinese tradition. Following the trend of redefining pop cultural footwear, Wang expresses her take on the traditional Converse Chuck 70. Adding a bold, and bulky sole turning the traditional silhouette into something brutal.
It is noticeable the collection takes heavy inspiration from everyday life, from contrasting signs of wear on leather with formal wear like ties. In addition Wang visibly adores the shape of the body, accentuating hips and playing with volumes.
