DEEPTI º022-023 ISOLATION COLLECTION

Deepti Barth takes us on another mesmerising journey with her º022-023 Isolation collection, this time with the element of reflection. Deepti's º022-023  Isolation showcases meticulously crafted garments that are a statement on their own, but add an extra element of functionality under direct light. The reflection shown is subtle and only is visible when it’s needed, just like how individuals use reflection on their self only when it’s desired. The reflecting components are not visible to the human eye without shining light on it, something we have not seen before in garments, as usually you would see the reflective compounds in the garments even without shining light on it.

Reflection put into action

At the heart of the collection is the LOOT-96L fabric, a black reflective material woven with cylindrical yarn coated in microscopic glass spheres. This reflection remains hidden until exposed to direct light, creating a captivating visual effect. Reflective knitting techniques are showcased in fully-fashioned pullovers and scarves, combining reflective yarn with high-twist cotton. Available in light grey, anthracite, and black reflective colors, these pieces embody minimalistic beauty.

Immaculate tailoring

A true Deepti collection isn’t complete without her signature tailoring. The º022-023 features a new long two-button jacket (fabric: J-161, leather: LJ-160) with angular pocket openings, button pleat details, and a hidden button-stand. The jackets are impeccably tailored using horsehair canvas, shoulder pads, and rolls. An innovative internal construction allows for easy sleeve cuff adjustment.

Deepti also introduces two new buttoned up shirt styles with exposed button-stands, buttons handcrafted out of thick mother of pearl, and embroidered underarm vent holes. Also the shirts are available with the various reflective elements and add sophistication to the collection.

Reflection in leather

Something completely new is the usage of reflection on leather in her accessories. The leather isolation accessories, including aprons (LV-154), bags (LB-152), and hats (LA-153) are crafted from horse leather with a hand applied reflective treatment. 

Deepti's unique reflective treatments showcase that she is still one of the lead designer in the artisanal industry, especially when it comes to experimentation. The Isolation collection showcases her creative mind in ways of implementing reflection in materials that have not been used before. Her work continues to seamlessly merge impeccable tailoring with experimental material treatments.
