CEDRIC JACQUEMYN

CEDRIC JACQUEMYN

Cedric Jacquemyn is an artisan from Antwerp that graduated at the Antwerp Academy. The same academy where Martin Margiela and Ann Demeulemeester started their fashion journey.

After graduating in 2010 from university, he started his prestigious label Cedric Jacquemyn together with artistic Photographer Yves de Brabander.

His first collection named The Last Glacier and was a continuation of his graduation project and he presented the collection in Paris for Fall Winter 2011.

Cedric Jacquemyn is known for his experimental and darkly romantic approach on wearable art.

He often experiments with distinctive materials like Copper, Silver, translucent leather, baby Alpaca wool, glass and more, whilst implementing complicated oxidizations treatments, boiling methods to shrink wool and sewing constructions.

The fabrics used on his crafts all have a story, from deconstructed yarns, high-quality organic linen harvested out of the Flanders region, to materials that are slow woven on 1950’s vintage Looms.

Every item from Cedric Jacquemyn has been carefully researched from start to finish.
