ANDREA YA'AQOV - SS23 COLLECTION
Andrea Ya’aqov SS23 collection continues their contrasting artistic exploration in the same as how they started in 2013.
In generality, Andrea Ya’Aqov explores design from a contrasting perspective – be it in the way the materials are contrasting to each other in feeling, like rough structures paired with smooth, shiny appearances combined with matte, skinny and relaxed, sporty and formal or combinations in color. Every collection features a notion of contrast.
For the upcoming SS23 season, their inspiration came from a photograph of a sunset in the rain. The contrasting effect of the deep orange sun and the dark blue sky with clouds, inspired Andrea Ya’aqov to add a notion of orange dye to their garments. This treatment is a handmade double dye, established out of experimentations with pressing orange on the garments & washing the garments together with the orange in a black solution.
While formerly being known for their excellent essentials with a minimalist appearance, for SS23 they are expanding their collection with head-to-toe items to create full looks. For the first time, they introduced dropped–shoulder relaxed fitted blazers in contrasting linen and leather, denim suits, technical parka’s with hidden pockets and wide fitted shorts.
Material-wise and additionally for the first time, they introduced self-developed materials that have been created in conjunction with small fabric mills in Italy. As Andrea Ya’Aqov is a big proponent of natural materials, dyes and treatments, it was their goal to own the complete production process from A to Z ever since they started.
About Andrea Ya’aqov
